GRANITE AND GLASS WORKS WONDERS WITH SOLID SURFACES

Tough, dependable, colourful and cool. These adjectives do not only sum up the materials supplied by Granite and Glass Ltd, but also describe the up and coming company itself. Started a few years ago, born out of a frustration at the lack of professionalism in the kitchen industry, the company since appled its creative use of hard surface to a multitude of exciting projects.

Granite and Glass supports the designers it works for by turning their dreams into reality. The company’s inspiring use of modern solid surfaces has seen Granite and Glass team up with American manufacturer ‘Avonite’. Avonite is a beautiful fabricated material, that is as easy to use as wood, as impervious to liquid as metal, as tough as concrete and more adaptable than most plastics. Combined with a huge range of colours and Granite and Glass’ ability to creatively apply them, gives endless possibilities. At a recent nightclub fitout in Norwich, the designer’s managing director said of Granite and Glass: “Their experience and professionalism make it a joy to let them turn our design concept into a reality”.

Granite and Glass’ chosen glass supplier is AGC, a leading European manufacturer of high quality, opaque, floated glass, which is easy to use, contemporary in style, strong and safe. Granite and Glass twinned this excellent glass with a unique use of fibre optics and spot lights to turn surfaces into a myriad of colour.

The company continues to liaise with its international suppliers, with the introduction of several new ranges. Surface laminates from France, called Nuances Naturelles, are a new and exciting range of wall cladding. From Germany and the Samsung Corporation ‘Staron’, comes another new solid surface range to compete with Corian and Avonite. From the UK’s Schott, the leading suppliers of architectural glass, comes priva-lite clear glass, which turn white translucent at a touch of a switch, for instant privacy.

Granite and Glass promises that it will push the boundaries of the industry to follow any innovation their designers may have, whether it’s for bars, DJ booths or public areas. Clever use of fibre optics with glass wall panels and room dividers enhance or change mood, style and feel of any room.
